10 Essentials to put on your PurePods packing list

You’ve booked an overnight stay in one of our luxurious glass eco-cabin. Now it’s time to start thinking about what to take.

Comfortable backpack

Our first tip is to make sure you pack everything into a comfortable backpack.  Each PurePod experience includes a 10 -15 minute walk from a secure carpark. The walk from your car sets the tone for your private overnight escape and passes through beautiful native bushes. At the end of the walk, you’ll find your PurePod cabin standing proudly in a stunning and secluded location.

While you won’t need to bring equipment to set up your shelter and snuggle in for the night like you do when camping, you do need to pack a bit differently than you would if you were spending a weekend in a hotel in the city.

Clothing

Our PurePods are warm and cosy, but remember to pack layers. Layers are a great way to prepare for a variety of weather conditions. If you decide to venture out of the PurePod and stargaze from the deck, then layer up your clothing, and take advantage of the hot water bottles and picnic blankets provided.

Walking Shoes

Each of our PurePods is surrounded by beautiful walks, so pack your walking shoes to explore nature. Of course, if such exploration is not quite what you desire, feel free to stretch out on the deck or in the shade nearby and enjoy a complete absence of people, traffic – even your cellphone will likely have no signal, depending on the PurePod location you have chosen.

Favourite Activity

Staying at a PurePod is all about slowing down, discounting from the busy life, reconnecting with each other, and having time to catch up on your favourite activity. So bring your favourite book, art project (knitting, scrapbook), yoga mat, or hula hoop. Each of our PurePods also offers an assortment of games, local reference books, and a telescope for those looking for additional activities once at the PurePod.

Food

If you decide to book a food hamper; a delicious dinner & breakfast food package will be waiting for you at the PurePod – select this option when you make your reservation. Or you can bring your own food to create a special feast. The PurePod has a small fridge and a gas hob in the kitchen and an outdoor barbeque, plus the kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, plates, cutlery, wine glasses, tea, coffee, milk and cooking oil.

Camera

Make sure you take a charged camera to capture the experience. We love receiving guest photos, so send us the snaps you’re most proud of.

Favourite Tipple

This is an important one! Pack your favourite beverage to enjoy on your private deck. Relax and take in the surroundings, bird song, and picture-perfect views.

Music

Remember to load your favourite tunes onto your device. There’s a UE Boom speaker at the PurePod, plus two USB charging points so in between listening to the birds singing in the nearby trees, you can dance the night away while no one’s watching.

Medication

All our PurePods have basic first aid kits, but make sure you remember any additional medication.

Toiletries

No need to pack towels or most toiletries, as the PurePod is stocked with super crisp and cosy bed linen, towels, face cloths, hand towels, along with shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and handwash. And, don’t pack your hairdryer as there are no power outlets, other than the USB chargers, as the PurePods use solar power and a power-hungry hairdryer will deplete the batteries!

Fall in love with uninterrupted views, nature, and beautiful Aotearoa. We look forward to hosting you!
